SHOWERS

I have spent the past couple of weekends getting decorations ready for these two exciting showers that seemed to come and go so quickly.  The first one was for my dear friend Summer who is getting married in July and the other was for another great, long time friend Xavs who is having a baby in June!  Congrats to both of you.

Soon to be Mrs. Avalos

WALKER BABY SHOWER

There was a cute sign that said "Baby Addison" but I didn't get a picture of it

Guarding the door...does it get any cuter than these two!!

Both of these showers turned out so nice.  Can't wait for their big days!!

GAVIN AND ME

On Saturday Nordstroms was having a special event at the Smashbox makeup counter.  If you purchased a certain amount of makeup, they gave you a make over with their makeup and you got a photo shoot with a photographer.  I had a couple of things I needed to buy soon anyway, so it worked out perfect for me!  Nate ended up being really sick on Saturday and couldn't go to the mall, so Jimmy was SUPER uncle and watched both kids while Amy and I got our makeup done.  After I saw the pictures of Gavin and me, I was so happy I didn't have to miss it, so THANK YOU JIMMY!

He was so serious in the beginning and he just stared at the photographer.  After a few minutes, he started to smile and I was tickling him a little!

Then he called Amy back over and took some of the two of us...we NEVER get these!

Wow!  I can't believe I just blogged that much.  I had so many posts that I have been meaning to do, just not enough time.  I feel much better now!

FLOWER FIELDS

Amy and I took Taylor and Gavin to the Flower Fields in Carlsbad this week and they are AMAZING!!  It is hard to describe how beautiful and amazing these fields are.  It is just rows and rows of flowers all sectioned off by type and color.  There is not a whole lot to do there, but it is definitely something to see.  We got in trouble for putting them in the flowers so we could get cute pictures!

This is the best I got of them together

Beautiful view from the top!

ANGELS GAME

We went to our first Angels game of the season and had a good time.  We weren't sure how Gavin would handle sitting in a seat through a baseball game, but he did way better than we anticipated.  There was a row of kids sitting right behind us and they kept him pretty entertained.  Our seats were on the side of the stadium that faces the freeway so he watched for trucks (sit eee) going by.  Now that we know he can handle a game, hopefully we will be going to a couple more this season!

Gavin watching the game with his daddy

Every time the crowd would cheer, he would get so excited and clap his hands.  It was so cute to watch him get that happy!

GO ANGELS!!

EASTER DAY

Easter was a busy day, but it was fun because we got to see family and the kids played and had a great time.  We hung around home and relaxed in the morning and then headed over to my mom and Robert's.  Gavin got spoiled by his cousins, aunts and grandparents!

He got up and saw what the Easter Bunny brought him.  He kept lifting the handle of the wagon really fast  and completely emptying it out before he would pull it anywhere.

He decorated an Easter cookie...

and taste tested the candy

and this was the final masterpiece!

This is the bunny that Taylor gave him for Easter.  When you press the hand, it sings "Heres Comes Peter Cottontail" and hops around and he cannot get enough.  He pressed the button non stop and he would dance and bob his head to the song.  Its adorable!  Thanks Amy

Then we headed to my mom and Robert's for the day.

My Nana and Grandpa Bob brought a pinata with candy for the kids and they liked it.  I didn't think they were going to know what to do with it, but once we showed them, they did it.  Gavin loved swinging the stick and hitting the egg, even thought he couldn't hit very hard.  They needed some help from their dads to break it open at the end!

On to the Egg Hunt in the front yard.  We tossed the eggs in the grass because the kids are too young to go and look for them.  Gavin was not into the eggs at all.

He would rather hang out with Zoee

and try to squeeze and break the egg he got

Thank you Grandma and Papa for having us over and for the Easter gifts!  Thanks Taylor and aunts and cousins for the baskets and treats and everything else.  Hope you all had a Happy Easter...
Love, Gavin

TOM'S FARMS

Tom's Farms is such a nice place to go with kids because there is so much to see and do and it is outside, which is Gavin's favorite place to be these days!  We ate outside and Gavin kept trying to chase the birds.  It was such a nice day and warm enough to wear summer clothes and sandals.  It seems so weird to see his bare legs in shorts!

We walked over by the little pond and Gavin was getting really brave by the water.  He was trying to walk on the rocks and by the end, he did stick his whole foot in!

He had a meltdown when we may him got off of this tracor

I wish the merry go round and the other activities were go on, but I think they are off on weekdays

Amy and I have been wanting to rent a different camera lens just to see what its like and try something new.  We picked them up on Friday evening in Orange County and then drove to the beach because we wanted to get pretty pictures with the sunset.  We drove around forever and tried to find the "perfect" spot and by the time we found it, the sun was almost gone.  Gavin and Taylor seemed to be a little spooked by the ocean and the waves and they weren't really feeling it.
