EASTER BUNNY

We took Gavin to Bass Pro Shops to see the Easter Bunny and he was TERRIFIED!  He reacted like this with Santa too, but I thought he might have grown out of that stage by now.  I was hoping that he would watch Taylor and then be OK because he always copies her, but no luck.  This morning, I showed him this picture and he was all excited waving to the bunny and saying hi!  Maybe next year.

FASHION ISLAND

We went to Fashion Island to eat brunch at the El Torito Grille and it was so good.  There was so much food, it was overwhelming.  After we ate, we walked around the mall and Gavin got to stop and see all the fish.  I couldn't believe it, but when we stopped, he leaned over and said "fishy."  I didn't even know he knew that word!!

GOOD OLD FRIENDS

These two girls are the oldest friends we have.  Our parents were friends before any of us were born!  We don't talk everyday or get together very often, but we have been there for all of the ups and downs in each other's lives.  They are the friends that we know are always going to be there no matter what.  Anyway, we went over to Mary's house on Saturday night and she made us dinner.  It was nice to catch up and talk about the wedding.  She is getting married in June!!!  Congrats Mary and Dan

THE SLIDE

When I took Gavin to the park on Friday, he was all about the slide.  All he wanted to do was go up the stairs and down the slide.  He wasn't even trying to climb up the slide the wrong way, which was really nice.  Every time he got to the top, he was all smiles and he was so proud when he slid down to the bottom.  He did not want to leave the park!

SEA WORLD

We went to Sea World on Thursday with the Avalos'.  The weather was perfect, there were no crowds, and we had such a nice time.  The tickets are good until the end of the year so it was a pretty good deal.  I can't wait to go back because I think Gavin really enjoyed looking at a lot of the animals, even though he thinks most of them are doggies!  It is amazing how those people train the animals to do such cool tricks.

We are sitting in the ice caves by the polar bears

He had just gotten up from a nap and was still in a really bad mood.  I wish he wasn't because he really likes Elmo

Waiting patiently for the show to start.  It was hard for him to sit still because we were sitting next to aisle and the stairs were SO tempting!

He missed all of the Shamu tricks because he was watching the waterfalls on the stage the whole time!

Looking at the polar bears sleeping

The nuts and bolts were a little more interesting than the polar bears...

He also really liked the Shark Encounter where they are swimming above your head. He was on Nate's shoulders so he was close to them.  He was trying to reach out and touch them.

Chased a bird all the way down a walkway!!

I could not get him to sit long enough to take a picture in front of these pretty flowers, but this will do!

The kiddos: Madalyn, Gavin and Baby Preston.  Can you believe they are all looking at the same time? They were so good all day

Love him

This was Gavin as we walked out the gates.  He lasted until the last few minutes!

TRASH DAY

Wednesday mornings, trash day, seems to be a very exciting time in our household.  Gavin will wake up EXTRA early when he hears the trash trucks and he waits in the front window until he sees it go by.  "Sit eee" is what he has always said when he sees a truck.  We have absolutely NO IDEA what he is saying, and I don't think we will ever figure it out, but we know what he is talking about.  Weird how parents can understand that kind of language!  It took us about 6 months to know what he was talking about.  Now when we are driving in the car, he does the sign for more and says, "mo sit eee, mo sit eeee" because he wants to see more trucks.

Anyway, here they are straight out of bed last Wednesday, waiting for the big moment...They can hear the truck, but can't see it yet.

Looking all the way down the street

The anticipation. . .

And the moment he has been waiting for.  The truck is passing right in front of the window!

He loves trucks, not just trash trucks, any trucks!

HOPPY EASTER

I took Gavin back to the field that Amy and I LOVE and took his Easter pictures.  The fields are so pretty and green!  Gavin was actually not cooperating and didn't want to do pictures at all, but I think I still got some cute ones.  I couldn't get over how handsome he looked in the cute pink tie.

So sweet

Then we moved on to The Mission Inn.  He is smelling the flowers

I love this one!

He is off with his Easter basket!
