HAWAII

I finally got time to sit and go through all of the pictures from Hawaii.  It is so hard to pick the ones to post because I have so many that I like!  There is a lot of pictures for this post...

We went to Oahu, Hawaii to meet my dad who was coming from Korea.  It had been far too long since the last time we saw him.  It was nice to spend time with him and see him everyday for almost a week.  It was definitely a little harder than I expected to say goodbye and I miss him already, but hopefully we see him again soon.

The trip to Hawaii went so well and Gavin was a trooper.  He slept good at night and had an overall good time.  It seemed like by the time we got ready and out of the house everyday, it was close to nap time, and the kids napped in the car. That worked out really well.  The days we didn't drive anywhere, Gavin would try and dodge his nap and he would stay awake until bedtime.  He doesn't like to sleep on vacation.

The plane ride there was great.  We had a window seat so he looked out at the planes and luggage carts until we left.  Once we took off, he kept asking, "Where is the airplane?"  I don't think he knew we were in the plane.  He played with his cars and trucks and anything that we could find to keep him busy.  He fell asleep for a little while on the way there, and stayed awake the ENTIRE flight home.

On Thursday, we met up with my cousin and her husband who live in Oahu.  Her husband is in the navy and they live on the military base.  We got to go and see their house and spend the day with them.  We drove the North Shore and ate at the shrimp shacks, went to a well known cheeseburger place, visited the Dole Plantation, and had a BBQ by the pool.  It was a busy day, but fun!

Cousins Ashley and Jacob
Our condo was right across the street from the Hilton Hawaiian Village and walking distance to the beach.  It was perfect to walk to the beach for just a little bit and walk back when the babies were done.  It took Gavin a few days to get used to the beach and the sand, but he ended up liking it.  Him and Taylor had so much fun and they were the cutest babies on the beach!!

They were feeding the birds their peanuts

I love this picture!

We walked over to the Hilton Hawaiian Village a couple times at night and listened to the live music they had.  Gavin and Taylor really liked it a lot and danced.

We had to go to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville to eat the chicken wings.  I think they are some of the best wings I have ever had.  We even went back for a second time because they were so good!!

Family pictures

We walked around and shopped at the International Marketplace

That is where we found this bus.  This is the best souvenir we have ever bought.  Gavin did not let this out of his hands after we bought it and he still loves it.

The entire time we were there, Gavin did not want anything to do with taking pictures AT ALL.  The last night we were there, we went down to the beach to see what we could get.  He threw the biggest fit and didn't want to sit with us.  When Amy, Jimmy, and Taylor sat down for their family picture, he went right over and joined them...very frustrating.  Anyway, we somehow got this one.  I am not crazy about th picture in general, but I think it is the biggest smile we got out of him all week!!

Best Buds.  We had to keep giving them snacks to try and get them to cooperate.  It was good because we could get them to sit, but bad because they are eating in all of the pictures...can't win

We had such a good time there and I am sad the trip ended so quickly.  It was fun to go with Amy, Jimmy and Taylor.  They are good traveling partners and the kids had fun together.

Aloha!

THE AVALOS WEDDING

Nate and I were in Andy and Summer's wedding on July 9th and we were so happy to be part of their special day!  I feel like we waited for this wedding forever and now I can't believe it is all over with.  It was such a beautiful wedding and we had a lot of fun.  Thanks to Amy and Jimmy, Gavin stayed with them and had a slumber party with Taylor!!

Thursday, all of the girls went to the nail shop and got pedicures before we headed to the rehearsal.  We kind of took over because there was so many of us and it turned into our own little party.  Summer gave all of the girls cute wine glasses and the nail place let us bring in bottles of champagne and have drinks while we were pampered.  We had fun!

These were our cute bridesmaids gifts

I really like this picture of Summer and her dad at the rehearsal!

Rehearsal Dinner at Miguel's...yummy!

I had to get up bright and early the next morning to start getting ready.  It is crazy how the girls get ready ALL DAY LONG and the guys get ready in less than an hour for the same event.  I think they are missing out because getting ready and watching the bride get ready is so fun!

Summer got a hotel room and that is where the girls hung out all day and got ready.  We took a fancy limo to the wedding and took pictures before it started.  It was a perfect day!

Summer looked like a true princess that day...Beautiful:)

The other Mr. and Mrs. Avalos and Us

Congratulations Andy and Summer...We are so happy for you both!  Love you guys

4th OF JULY

I have been off work since the end of June and we have been so busy!  I don't know why, but blogging is the last thing I feel like doing lately.  I still have pictures from the 4th of July so I am backtracking a little.

This year we went to the parade that was on Main Street.  Gavin was sleeping so late we didn't think we were going to make it.  He ended up waking up right before it started and we walked down there really fast and watched it.  It was fun to watch, but it wasn't exciting like the parades I remember when I was younger.

After the parade, we went to my mom and Robert's and had a simple BBQ.  The kids played in the pool and ran around all day.  We watched the fireworks from the jacuzzi and had a great view.  Gavin really liked them this year.  He sat on Nate's shoulders and clapped a lot!!

He liked this Chick fil A cow

On to Grandma and Papa's. . . .

He took his bear on a serious drive

I don't know how he has this belly because this boy NEVER EATS!!

Hope everyone had a Happy 4th!!

PLAYDATE AT THE BEACH

On Thursday, Gavin and I went for a play date in Newport Beach.  My friend Kim from work lives down there and invited a couple of us with our kiddos.  Her complex has a really nice pool with a whole bunch of cabanas around it.  I felt like I was at a resort!  Gavin really liked the pool that day and he hung out on the steps for a long time.

The kids...Can you tell who didn't want to take anymore pictures??

The Girls: Hailey and Caitlyn

The boys: Hunter, Gavin, and Baby Ethan

Thanks for having us over Kim!
