On Saturday, we went to a very special baby shower for The Liso Twins!  It was nice to see family and it was really fun to see all of the baby stuff she got...and two of everything!  I didn't get any pictures when we were there, but here are a couple of Gavin before we left.

FINGER PAINTING

I got Gavin the Color Wonders finger paint a while back and just got around to using it.  He didn't want anything to do with it at first because he doesn't like his hands to be dirty.  Every time he got the paint on his fingers, he would say, "oh mess," and want us to wipe it off.  We kept showing him how to dip his fingers and after a while, he did it.  He kept on saying, "dip dip dip," when he was getting the paint and he had to have gobs of it.  He ended up really liking it.  This color wonders stuff is so nice and mess free!

MOVIE AND POPCORN

Last week, Nate and I rented Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs for Gavin and had a movie night.  We got out our popcorn maker and Gavin sat on the counter and watched it pop. He gets really excited for popcorn and he just keeps saying, "pop pop."  The movie did not end up being a hit and he only lasted until the popcorn was gone.  I guess it is not as action packed as Cat in the Hat!  We can try it again when he is a little older.

He likes to touch it and say, "hot!"

A MORNING AT THE PARK

LONG BEACH

We took Gavin to Long Beach and spent the day before I went back to work.  We sat outside and ate at Bubba Gumps.  The weather was beautiful and it was so clear and pretty that day.  There were birds walking around and kept landing on our table, so Gavin was very entertained the whole time.  After lunch, we walked across the street to the Aquarium of the Pacific and walked around there for a while.  There was some cool stuff to look at, but I didn't think it was anything like what they show on the commercials.  We were actually kind of bummed.  Gavin did like the shark pools where he could lean over and touch the sharks and stingrays.  He didn't actually touch one, but he loved splashing the water and getting his clothes soaking wet!  That was his excitement for the day and he didn't want to do anything else but that.

17 MONTHS

Gavin turned 17 months this week and I LOVE IT!  I know I always say the same thing, but I love his age and I wish he could stay this age for a long time.  Every month, I feel this same way, but it just keeps getting better!  Even though I love who he is and what he is doing at the moment, I do miss him being a baby.  He has become so independent and grown up and doesn't want us to help him do very much anymore.  This is good and bad.  He is really starting to do a lot of cute things and it is fun to watch him copy and learn new stuff all the time.
* He thinks he can talk and carry a conversation.  He rambles on and on and we have no idea what he is talking about.  He doesn't know what to do with his tongue, so he sticks it out and rolls it around kind of weird.
* He tries to repeat most of the words we tell him to say
* He has started to try and repeat words with 2 syllables
* Loves playing with cars and trains and he makes the car sounds
* Runs all the time...NEVER walks.  He is always in fast forward
*Turns everything into a joke and starts laughing, even when he is in trouble
* Runs and hides when we say we are going to change his diaper
* Gives Zoee treats non stop
* He will copy us and cross his arms
* Tries to operate his DVD player and turn on Barney
* Loves dancing!
* Always says, "Yeah" no matter what we ask him

Gavin- we love you so much and you make us smile each and every day!

HAPPY 2010

We went to Big Bear with some of my family again to celebrate New Years Eve.  We have such a good time because we rent the cabin across the street from my Aunt and Uncle's cabin and we can just walk back and forth.  This is so convenient when we need to take the babies back across the street to take naps and go to bed.  Gavin decided that he was going to stay up and party all night for New Years.  He was up playing in the pitch dark and having a great time!  The second night he stayed in bed with us and that is always really uncomfortable for all of us too.  Other than the sleep issues, we had so much fun.

New Years Eve
Gavin and Daddy were playing in the snow!!

The girls were playing games while we waited for midnight to come

Gavin was copying Nate and Jimmy and picking up the snow

He is showing him how to make a snow ball

A Nature Walk

Little Snow Bunnies

This would explain why Gavin's hat is always so close to his eyes.  He always pulls it down.  He likes when he has to lift up his whole chin to see anything

He always thinks Taylor is so funny!

We had a really good time and I can't wait to go back next New Years!

Happy 2010 to Everyone!!
