CRAWLING

I have been trying to get a video on my phone to show the funky way that Gavin crawls. I think this one is pretty good!

GAVIN'S NEW TOY

We saw this Power Wheels quad at Toys R Us a while back and thought it was so cute. We bought it and thought we would save it and give it to him for his birthday. Nate opened it this weekend and put it together and Gavin loved it!! You can hear his screaming because he is so excited. I guess he got a really early birthday present.

8 MONTHS

Gavin is now 8 months old and he has had a very eventful past couple of weeks. It seems like he has started to do SO MANY new things and he is amazing us everyday. I might have to add more to this post later as I remember, but here are some of the big things he has started to do.






He started to feed himself puffs, goldfish, cheese puffs, apples, and many other snacks. I thought he was never going to start feeding himself because he tried for so long and could not get it. I would always try to show him how to do it and he couldn't. One day, I looked over and he was doing it without any help! He loves the Gerber cheese puffs and tries to put 2 or 3 in his mouth at once.


Another tooth came through last week and we can hear it when he is biting and chewing on his toys. It is so cute to see his teeth when he smiles!

He uses everything he can to pull himself up. He thinks he has to be standing at all times. He loves the table toy with all of the lights and buttons on it. When he gets up in the morning and sees it, he starts to scream for it right away!




He waved for the first time. He opens his hand and waves it back and forth instead of opening and closing it. We can't get him to do it very often. He seems to do it at random times.

He has been trying to crawl for a while now. He would get himself up on his knees and rock, but then he would get tired and just sit back up on his but. I think he officially started to crawl today. He does it kind of weird. He keeps one knee on the ground and one foot flat on the ground. I know this isn't the normal way of crawling, but it is getting him around and he does it pretty quickly.



He got a toy shopping cart from the Easter bunny and he tries to push it around. When he first got it, he didn't know what to do with it because it moved and rolled. We have been showing him how to walk with it and he has gotten a lot better.



He is still babbling a lot and has started to fake laugh. He is also in love with Zoee. All she has to do is walk past him and she gets a little giggle.

Happy Easter

On Saturday night we went over to Nate's parents house for dinner to celebrate Easter. Gavin got a new toy cell phone from the Lorge Easter bunny and some other treats! He got to spend some time with his cousin Dylan. They both enjoyed trying to suck and eat their new phones, but I didn't get a picture of them doing that.



On Sunday, we went to my parents and spent time with my mom's side of the family. Gavin and Taylor got a new Radio Flyer wagon from their Grandma and Papa and they love it!!!

EASTER BUNNY

Nate and I took Gavin to the mall and met Amy and Taylor for a visit with the Easter Bunny. The whole setup was not that great, but we had to do it since it is his first Easter. He did not react at all when he sat on his lap.

MISSION INN

Amy and i took the babies to the Mission Inn today and attempted to take pictures of them. There are so many good picture places there, but the babies only last so long. I think the ones we got turned out really cute! I already want to go back and take more.

OPENING DAY

Last night, we went to the Angel's Opening Day baseball game. This was Gavin's first baseball game and he seemed to like all of the action! We didn't go into the game until after it had started, so I didn't get any pictures of the fly over or the beginning ceremonies. . . maybe next time!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAYLOR

Taylor had her first birthday party last Saturday . . . I can't believe she is already one! The party was really cute and decorated like a candy shop. I took pictures with my sister's camera card all day, so I don't have any of the birthday girl in her tu-tu. You can look at Amy's blog to see some.

DANA POINT

On Thursday, we decided that we would go to the beach and stay the night since I am still off work. It sounded really good until we got down there and it was FREEZING! It was so cold and cloudy so we didn't do much, but it was still relaxing and we had fun. I didn't take very many pictures because we didn't do much, but here are a couple.

I thought Gavin looked so sweet in these pictures. He kept getting really tired and laying his head down on his dog and he never does that.
