9 MONTHS
I'm a little late on Gavin's 9 month post, but I'm doing it anyway because I completely forgot to post it sooner. I had typed this a while back, but wanted to post it later when I had time to upload some pictures, so here it is! He has had a very busy month! He is still crawling everywhere, but now he is doing it REALLY FAST! He likes to hear the sound of his hands slapping hard on the floor. He pulls up on just about everything possible and makes his way around. He pounds on everything! He still thinks Zoee is really funny and they have started to play a little bit. She will bring him her toy and then he holds on to it and giggles. It is pretty cute to watch. He idolizes Taylor and tries to copy everything she does. She has taught him to make this funny noise with his fingers and lips, breathe in and out from his nose and make a funny scrunched up face, and he tries to follow her everywhere. He has started to copy us when we want him to do something funny. He loves to shake his head "no," dump out his toy box, get into the refrigerator when its open, mess with the night lights, stand up in his crib when he doesn't want to sleep, throw a fit when I change his diaper, push his shopping cart, get into Zoee's food and water, use our leg to pull himself up, puts everything to his ear and makes noise like he is talking a cellphone, and a lot more that I am probably forgetting. As for food, he still LOVES the cheese puffs more than anything, yogurt, grilled cheese, plain cheese, and eggo waffles. If we try to feed him anything, he will spit it out right away, and has to put it back in his mouth by himself. He also had two top teeth pop through in the last week!

HIKING WITH MY COUSIN
On Sunday we went up to my Aunt Kathy's cabin in Big Bear and spent the day. We took the babies and went hiking through the mountains to find good picture places.
Even though there are a million sticks in the mountains, they both want to fight over the same one!
Taylor won . . . can you tell??
They sat and played in the dirt for a really long time. They seemed to really be concentrating.

THE BEACH
On Friday night, we drove to the beach because it was such a nice evening and we thought we could get really cute sunset pictures of Gavin. We are trying to get pictures of him to put on his birthday invitations. The sun was out the entire time we were driving and then once we got close enough to see the water, it turned really dark. It looked like it was going to rain because it was so dark. We didn't get the sunset, but we did get cute pictures!

MOTHER'S DAY
I had a really nice first Mother's Day weekend. We decided that we would see our moms on Saturday and celebrate Mother's Day just the three of us, since it was our first one. On Saturday afternoon, we went to meet Nate's mom for lunch. After that, we went to Palm Springs and had a family BBQ and pool party with my mom's side of the family. We planned on spending the night until Gavin decided he was not going to sleep and was still wide awake and playing after midnight. We decided to drive home.
On Sunday, we went to Duke's in Huntington Beach and had brunch. We went to their brunch in Hawaii and have been wanting to go to this one since we came back. It was sooo good! We just walked down to the end of the pier and up Main Street and then headed home. It was a really nice and relaxing day. Thanks Nate and Gavin!

WATER TOY
Since it was SO HOT yesterday, we took Gavin out in the front yard and cooled him down with a sprinkler toy. He was a little shocked when it sprayed him in the face and he acted like he couldn't breathe, but after the shock, he thought it was pretty funny. He really seemed to like it a lot! We will be doing a lot more of that with all of this hot weather.

Irvine Park
Last weekend, we went to Irvine park with Philip, Allison, and Madalyn. The second graders at my school went on a field trip there and they were all going on about how great it was. I wanted to see what it was all about. It is a really cool park with so many things to see. We went to the petting zoo, on the train ride, let the kids play at the park, and went down by one of the little lakes. I definitely want to go back soon!
